“เดินเพื่อนผู้หญิงทำงาน !”
วันที 8 มีนาคม ปี คศ 1908 ผู้หญิงเดินขบวนผ่านเมืองนิวยอร์คเรียกร้องชั่วโมงทำงานที่น้อยลง ค่าจ้างที่ดีขึ้นและสิทธิในการไปใช้สิทธิเลือกตั้ง กว่าหนึ่งร้อยปีจากวันนั้นและเรายังคง “เดินเพื่อนผู้หญิงทำงาน !”
งานที่ผู้หญิงทำยังถูกเรียกว่างานไร้ทักษะ ยังคงไม่ได้รับการตระหนักว่าเป็นการทำงาน! แรงงานที่ทำงานบ้าน แรงงานไทยหรือแรงงานข้ามชาติไม่ได้รับการคุ้มครองตามกฎหมายแรงานนอกจากนั้นยังให้อำนาจนายจ้างในการมีอำนาจควบคุมสภาวะการทำงานของแรงงานทำงานบ้าน ผู้หญิงที่ทำงานในอุตสาหกรรมก่อสร้างมักจะได้รับค่าจ้างน้อยกว่าผู้ชาย โดยผู้หญิงมักจะถูกบอกว่าพวกเธอมีทักษะหรือแข็งแรงน้อยกว่าผู้ชาย แต่เราเองดูความจริงได้ครั้งหน้าเวลาที่เราผ่านไปไซด์ก่อสร้าง !
วันเสาร์ ที่ 8 มีนาคม พศ 2551 ณ สะพานนวรัฐ เชียงใหม่เวลา 17.45 น และเวลา 18.00 นเริ่มที่จะเดิน “เพื่อผู้หญิงทำงาน “ ตอนท้ายของการเดิน (สถานที่จะมีการยืนยันอักครั้งหนึ่ง)จะมีการเล่นเกมส์ “วีเกมส์”
ลองใช้มือในการล้างจาน, สร้างกำแพง, เย็บผ้า แข่งขันทำงานแต่ละอย่างและทำงานทั้งหมดกับความเร็วและเวลาและเพื่อพิสูจน์ว่างานเหล่านี้เป็นงานที่ใช้ทักษะสูง พร้อมทั้งมีการร้องเพลง การปราศัยและความสนุกสนานอีกมาก รขอเชิญทุกท่านร่วมกิจกรรมกับเราในวันที่ 8 มีนาคม
การจัดกิจกรรมดังกล่าวเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของกิจกรรมประจำปีที่เราจัดทุกปีเนื่องในวันสตรีสากลโดยเครือข่ายขององค์กรเอกชน แรงงานหยิงและชุมชนท้องถิ่น

Walking for Working Women, International Women's Day
ON March 8th, 1908, 15,000 women marched through New York City demanding shorter working hours, better pay and voting rights. 100 years have passed and we are still “Walking for Working Women!”
Women’s work is still called unskilled, is still not considered work! Domestic workers, Thai and migrant, are not protected by the Labour Laws thus giving employers total control over their working conditions. Women who work in the construction industry are nearly always paid less than men. They are told that men have more skills and/or strength. But take a look next time you go past the construction site!
On Saturday March 8th 2008, in Chiang Mai we invite you all to join a march to call for better working conditions and more respect for women’s work!

Try your hand at washing dishes, building a wall, sewing….all in a race against time and to prove, once and for all, that we are highly skilled in our work! Songs, speeches and more fun will follow! ปีนี้ในวันสตรีสากล จังหวัดเชียงใหม่ เราจะจัดกิจกรรมเพื่อเชิดชูผู้หญิงทำงานทุกคน หลังจากการเดินขบวนรณรงค์ประจำปี เพื่อส่งเสริมสาระการเฉลิมฉลองของปีนี้ เราจะจักการแข่งขันวีเกมส์ แต่ละทีมจะแข่งกันในการผลัดกันล้างจาน นับเงิน ย้ายอิฐ เย็บผ้า เต้น และลอบบี้เพิ่อหาเสียงเลือกตั้ง
แต่ละองค์หรือกลุ่มสามารถส่งตัสแทนของท่านได้ หนึ่งทีมประกอบด้วยผู้หญิงหกคน อุปกรณ์ต่างๆผู้จัดจะเตรียมให้และไม่จ่ายค่าใช้จ่ายใดในการสมัคร

This year on International Women’s Day Chiang Mai, we will honor working women. Following our annual march, in keeping with the theme, we will host the WE games. Teams will compete against each other in a relay of washing dishes; counting money; moving bricks; sewing; dancing and lobbying for votes.
Each organization or group may nominate one team of six women. All equipment is provided and no joining fee.
Bring plenty of people along to cheer your team as well!
